What happened in the 1883 season finale?

After getting shot in the gut with an arrow, Elsa looked to be at death’s door. Her father, James (Tim McGraw) pretty much confirmed as much to his wife, Margaret (Faith Hill). Even though they made it to a fort, it had been abandoned by the military and taken over by the Wyoming Stockgrowers Association. With no medicines or practicing doctor on hand, there was no reason to stay. Shea Brennan (Sam Elliott), recommending to the caravan that they hunker down for the winter and pick up their journey to Oregon in the spring, is met with opposition from most of the caravan who decide to head out on their own. Only Josef (Marc Rissman) says he wants to continue on with Shea and Noemi (Gratiela Brancusi) offers to drive their wagon. In a smile-worthy moment in an otherwise bleak episode, Colton (Noah Le Gros) and Wade (James Landry Hébert) say their goodbyes to Elsa as they head back to Texas to look for new work. The pioneers who break off from Shea and the Duttons meet a gruesome end as they are set upon by thieves. None of them make it to their final destination. Josef’s leg is getting worse and the only way to save him from certain death is to cut off the diseased portion of his leg. Thomas (LaMonica Garrett), Shea and James get Josef good and drunk before they set upon taking his leg. Josef’s wife, Risa (Anna Fiamora) succumbs to her injuries after falling off her horse after it was spooked by the rattlesnake that later bit Josef. Elsa comes across some Indians who turn out to be friendly and help tend to her injuries though they are not able to cure her. One of the Crow elders, Spotted Eagle (Graham Greene) tells James of Paradise Valley in Montana. Elsa asks her father if she can pick the spot where she will die and a teary-eyed James agrees. He heads to Paradise Valley with Elsa alone on horseback as the wagon would take too long to get there. She dies in his arms as they sit against the tree she picked out. Fast forward a year later and we see Josef, on makeshift crutches, working his homestead. Over in Willamette Valley in Oregon, Thomas and Noemi have found a place to settle. Shea has made it to the Pacific Ocean—a place where he had promised his wife he would go so that she could see the ocean through his eyes. After getting a visit from a hummingbird as he sits on the beach, Shea ends his lonely life so he can once again be with his wife and daughter. The closing scene finds Elsa in a valley on a beautiful sun-kissed day with Sam (Martin Sensmeier) challenging her to a race.

Will there be a 1883 season 2?

Paramount+ picked up additional episodes of 1883 but there has been no official season 2 pickup. When we asked Paramount to clarify, all they would say is, “There’s more 1883 coming.” Though the show wasn’t billed as a limited series, we now believe that it is and that the additional episodes will help tie up any loose ends and bridge the gap between it and Yellowstone as well as the upcoming subsequent prequel series, 1932. Executive producer David Glasser recently told The Hollywood Reporter what season 2 of 1883 would be. Glasser said the recently announced second Yellowstone prequel series 1932 “was always intended to be the second season” of 1883.

When will the additional episodes of 1883 air?

No official airdate has been announced, but since the next season of Yellowstone will be split into two parts, we suspect we’ll see those 1883 episodes airing before the start of the new season of Yellowstone or between the two halves.

How does 1883 tie to Yellowstone?

1883 is a prequel series to Yellowstone and tells how the Duttons came to Montana and settled the land that becomes the Dutton ranch.

How can I watch 1883?

If there is a second season of 1883, who would be in the cast?

Unless you believe both Shea and Elsa miraculously recovered from their fatal wounds, the two actors would likely not appear in season 2 unless it was in a flashback scene. If there is a second season of 1883, we expect the core characters would appear as they settle into life in their respective homesteads like the Dutton family (Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Audie Rick), Josef, Thomas (LaMonica Garrett) and Noemi. We would hopefully see supporting characters like Sam (Martin Sensmeier) as well as cowboys Wade (James Landry Hébert) and Colton (Noah Le Gros).

What is 1932?

1932is another prequel series to Yellowstone that was recently announced and will follow the Duttons as they make their way through the Great Depression and the Prohibition era in US history. Next, The Complete List of Taylor Sheridan Shows on Paramount and Paramount+
