Since its series premiere in 2014, Bachelor in Paradise has seen contestants from both The Bachelor and The Bachelorette hitting the beach in Mexico for a second chance at love—and possibly more Instagram followers. But sometimes, there’s no rose (or summer dating series, apparently) without its thorn, which is why rumors were swirling that the beachy Bachelor franchise staple wouldn’t return for an eighth season in 2022. Luckily, those rumors were put to rest on April 7, 2022, when the official BiP Twitter account shared “the announcement you’ve been waiting for… Bachelor in Paradise is headed back to the beach for another season!” Keep reading for everything we know about Bachelor in Paradise Season 8, including when it will come back and which Bachelor Nation veterans will hit the beach this time around.
Is Bachelor in Paradise canceled?
No! But for a long time before the April 7 renewal confirmation, fans fretted that trouble was brewing in Paradise. One reason BiP was thought to be RIP? After fan account @TheBachBabes tweeted about “the rumors that Paradise might be cancelled,” executive producer Mike Fleissinitially replied, “Canceled??? No f***ing way!! #BachelorinParadiseforever!” However, he later deleted his tweet, further confusing viewers. Spoiler guru Reality Steve joined those pondering the fate of the franchise in October 2021, writing in part, “This is strictly a prediction on my part, but I have a feeling Paradise might be done. It didn’t do well this past season, the format is getting old and tired, and… well, that’s just my prediction.” He added that “if they do decide to keep it, I think you need to make some major tweaks to the format.” In March 2022, however, he wrote that the TikTok rumors about Bachelor in Paradise getting canceled were “totally false,” saying, “Production has been asking around and starting early interviews about contestants for Paradise, so they wouldn’t be doing that if there was no show…. From everything I’ve heard, we know Bachelorette will premiere on July 11th, then Paradise will air right afterwards like it always does, just will be a little later than in years past.”

Is Bachelor in Paradise next?
Bachelor in Paradise’s theme song may be “Almost Paradise,” but is it actually almost time for another season? While Bachelor in Paradise typically airs after The Bachelorette ends, it’s unclear whether this year will be the same. The entire franchise has been shaking things up as of late, after all, such as casting two Bachelorette leading ladies on Season 19—Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia—for the first time. If Paradise is, in fact, airing after The Bachelorette Season 19, there’s also the question of who would host. Jesse Palmer made his hosting debut on Clayton Echard’s season 26 of The Bachelor and is currently hosting Gabby and Rachel’s season of The Bachelorette. However, it’s unclear whether he’ll also host Bachelor in Paradise, as former host Chris Harrison did, or if the show will return to last year’s rotating celebrity host format. When Palmer was announced as Bachelor host in the fall of 2021, sources told Variety that the hosting format for the spinoff was “still in flux.” There’s also been talk of Paradise bartender Wells Adams taking the reins, as Zachary Reality tweeted, “BIP semi spoiler: a source confirmed to me that Wells will be hosting this summer!” Adams previously told Us Weekly he was a “little bit bummed” to have been passed up for the role of Bachelor host, although he admitted, “I was never the Bachelor, so I understood the decision [to go with Jesse].”
Who will be on Bachelor in Paradise 2022?
Many of the women who ultimately get cast on BiP Season 8 will be likely familiar faces from Clayton’s season, given that it’s the only Bachelor season that’s aired since last summer’s Paradise. As for Season 8’s male contestants, however, there will be three new seasons of guys to pull from. Reality Steve guessed in February on his website that Andrew Spencer and Justin Glaze from Katie Thurston’s season would be “shoe-ins,” and it seems he’s right so far: On April 7, a Bachelor Nation insider tweeted that Spencer would indeed be “taking a trip to Mexico this summer.” Reality Steve is also predicting appearances from Brandon Jones, Rodney Matthews and Rick Leach from Michelle Young’s season, “assuming these dudes don’t end up in a relationship with anyone they meet on the Bachelor Live on Stage Tour.” Perhaps a former lead will also be boarding a flight to Mexico? Season 24 BachelorPeter Weber told Us Weekly in October 2021 that he’d been asked to be on Season 7, but a work schedule conflict prevented him from appearing. “I was going to go. I don’t know for sure if I was going but was definitely considering it,” he said at the time.
