A few of those Easter eggs, of course, were super-obvious, like when Daphne (PhoebeDynevor)—whose turbulent romance with Simon, the Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page), was the focus of Season 1—stated almost immediately in the Season 2 premiere that her husband was home with their son. As any Bridgerton fan knows, in real life, Page declined to return to the series this time around, which led to Daphne making several excuses for Simon’s absence throughout the season. Whether you’re on the hunt for hints about what Bridgerton Season 3 has in store, or cute callbacks to all the drama from Season 1, keep reading for our roundup of all the Bridgerton Easter eggs we’ve found so far—and check back as we add to the list!

When Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate (Simone Ashley) almost touch hands, it’s a callback to Simon and Daphne’s super-discreet hand-hold from Season 1. Kate and Anthony’s almost finger-touching is also a nod to Kate’s Indian heritage and hints at their wedding to come. In episode 2, Anthony’s handwritten list of potential wives includes “Miss Quinn,” described as “an exceptional writer.” JuliaQuinn is the author of the Bridgerton novels. In Season 1, Lady Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell) notes while discussing Simon and Daphne’s relationship that tulips symbolize passion. In Season 2, after Kate’s horseback riding accident, Anthony visits Kate and brings her… tulips! After Kate’s sister, Edwina (CharithraChandran) calls off her wedding to Anthony, Queen Charlotte (Golda Rosheuvel) tells her, “Miss Edwina, have I yet told you about my nephew? He is a prince. And he is available.” Back in Season 1, the Queen had tried to play matchmaker between her nephew Prince and her other “diamond” so far in the series, Daphne. Bridgerton showrunner Chris Van Dusen recently admitted that the scene in which Anthony falls into a lake and emerges with his soaked white shirt clinging to his muscular physique was meant as an homage to a similar scene with ColinFirth in the 1995 BBC miniseries Pride and Prejudice.
