The dazzling floor-length dress is by one of Duchess Kate’s go-to designers, Jenny Packham. Green sequins sparkled on the bodice and over the top of the tulle skirt, adding to the fairytale effect. Kate’s choice of hairstyle—a sleek, elaborate updo—allowed her to show off the dress to its full potential, as well as the emerald jewelry that was loaned to her by Queen Elizabeth II for the occasion. The dangling earrings feature diamond-set tassels with a cluster of emerald drops at the ends. On Kate’s wrist was a matching bracelet from the monarch’s ‘Emerald Tassel Parure’ set. So far, this green dress is one of two spectacular evening gowns showcased by Duchess Kate on her and Prince William’s Caribbean tour. On Tuesday night she wore a shimmering raspberry-pink mermaid dress to a reception in Belize, wearing her hair sleek and with a center part. For her departure from Belize she wore flowing white pants and a vintage orange-red blazer by Yves St. Laurent (which she’s owned since her university days!) At some point during the flight between Belize and Jamaica she changed into a sunshine-yellow dress by Roksanda, which blew around in the wind as she and William descended from the plane. We would have preferred that her shoes and clutch were in a color other than white, but we did love her mother-of-pearl earrings. Later in the day Kate changed into a very adorable stripy sundress—another vintage piece, which dates from the 1950s! The duchess doesn’t often wear anything vintage, so it’s always a thrill to see her showcase such lovely and rare pieces. She also wore a gold bangle by a Jamaican designer, Lashawndla Bailey-Miller.
