But now, he is making a comeback with his new film, The Whale, and die-hard fans are more supportive than ever.  Entertainment company A24 gave fans a first-look at Fraser’s character transformation into a 600-pound man.  The official A24 Instagram account shared the first photos from the film on Tuesday, writing: “Premiering at the 79th Venice Film Festival: Darren Aronofsky’s THE WHALE starring Brendan Fraser and Sadie Sink.” Fans could not hold back their excitement once they saw the image of Fraser, leaving a slew of uplifting comments on the post. One fan wrote, “Yessssss let this be Brendan Fraser’s first Oscar role!!!!! This man deserves his flowers!!!!” Another commented: “You had me at Brendan Fraser🔥”  Yet a third fan wrote, “Let the Brennaisance commence 🥲” Other hardcore supporters took their excitement to Twitter, commending the actor for making a return to the big screen. “So much respect for the gifted Brendan Fraser. Hollywood travesty that he should be off our screens for so long. Thrilled he is now working with the best of production, directors, and actors to remind everyone just how much we have lost in terms of his presence,” one fan tweeted.  One other fan tweeted, “Seeing Brendan Fraser at it again makes my heart SO HAPPY!! hoping this new chapter of life brings him his deserved rewards!” “You have just made a Brendan Fraser fan very happy with that new picture from The Whale. Thank you,” another supporter of Fraser’s commented.  The film is directed by Darren Aronofsky, and will star Fraser as Charlie, an English teacher who suffers from a compulsive eating disorder while attempting to reconnect with his estranged teenage daughter, Ellie, who is played by Stranger Things star Sadie Sink. The film is an adaptation of Samuel D. Hunter’s 2012 play of the same name. The Whale will also feature stars like Hong Chau, Samantha Morton, and Ty Simpkins. The nearly two-hour film is set to make its premiere at the 2022 Venice Film Festival.  Fraser will also appear in two more upcoming films: Batgirl and Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon.
