In Hallmark Channel’s latest offering, Mix Up in the Mediterranean, we get to take an adventure t0 the Mediterranean, specifically Malta, where the movie was filmed. The film stars Broadway star and Newsies alum Jeremy Jordan who takes on the dual role of twins Josh and Julian Northrup.
What is Mix Up in the Mediterranean about?
Josh Northrup (Jeremy Jordan) is content in his small Alaska hometown of Yukatat, cooking at the diner his parents once owned and dreaming of the day when he can take it over again. But when his twin brother, acclaimed big-city chef Julian (also Jeremy Jordan), injures himself, Josh agrees to pretend to be Julian in order to compete in one of the most elite culinary competitions in the world. It is there he meets Meg (Jessica Lowndes), the ambitious organizer of the contest who is eager to prove herself with her first big event. Feelings start to develop between them, but the situation is complicated when Meg thinks Josh is his brother Julian, who is married to Henri (Callum Blue).
Who’s in the cast of Mix Up in the Mediterranean?
Jeremy Jordan (Josh/Julian Northrup)
Josh is a small town cook at a local diner while his twin brother Julian is a fancy chef in the city. After Julian is injured and can’t compete in an elite cooking competition, Josh takes his place. Jordan was most recently in the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Christmas movie, Holly and Ivy. He also was part of the regular casts of Smash and Supergirl.
Jessica Lowndes (Meg Wescott)
Meg’s father is a famous hotelier who wants to help his daughter out with her business but Meg wants to make it on her own merits and not the Wescott name. The cooking competition is her first major event and she can’t afford to have anything go wrong. Lowndes is an accomplished singer-songwriter and has starred in several Hallmark Channel movies, including Christmas at Pemberley Manor, which at the time of air was was the highest-rated and most-watched Hallmark Channel original movie of 2018.
Callum Blue (Henri Vermeiren)
Henri is Julian’s better half and also his sous chef. With Julian injured, Henri helps Josh as his assistant chef during the competition. Where you know him from: Blue had recurring roles on Smallville and Royal Pains, but Hallmark Channel fans most likely recognize him from ThePrincess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement where he played Andrew Jacoby, Mia’s fiancé.
