On Wednesday’s episode of the duo’s morning broadcast, Hoda unveiled something personal she’d recently learned about Jenna during a backstage moment together. After initially appearing bashful and hesitant to say what it was on-air, she eventually divulged the news after getting the OK from her colleague. Kotb sheepishly glanced around before blurting out that the former first daughter “never wears underwear.” “I was a little surprised because Jenna and I know a lot about each other,” the anchor told the crowd on the NBC daytime show. The confession shocked the live studio audience, with several attendees displaying dramatic visual reactions upon learning the discovery. Bush Hager defended her undergarment (or lack thereof) choices, noting that going commando proves helpful for easier outfit changes—something that even their show’s wardrobe supervisor agrees with. “I think it makes a more pretty silhouette!” she said, further admitting, “I also think you don’t have to pack as much. There’s a lot of pros to it!” Though she stood by her decision, the mom-of-three also appeared slightly embarrassed. “You promised me you wouldn’t do this! There’s a lot of people here!” the Sisters First author told Kotb, later joking, “I’m sure my mom has never been more proud.” Though not wearing underwear expedites the garment-switching process, it also contributes to a more hefty laundry load. “It’s a lot of washing of clothes, over and over,” Hoda noted. However, Bush Hager doesn’t seem to mind since she doesn’t share clothes with anybody—aside from fellow TODAY show host, Savannah Guthrie. “I do steal Savannah [Guthrie]’s pants on occasion,” she confessed.
