Martha Stewart took to Instagram on Sept. 8 to share her new paid partnership with Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, and the ad she put together is interesting, to say the least. “When you brew full-flavored Pumpkin Spice coffee at home with Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, there’s no need for a coffee run—so savings come naturally,” she began the caption. “Join me and let’s go #FallNaturale with @greenmtncoffee #FallNaturale #PackedWithGoodness #Partner.” To celebrate Fall Naturale, Snoop Dogg’s best friend went nearly au naturel, covered only by a white apron bearing the Green Mountain logo as she stood in the kitchen. As the video started, she moved a floral mug towards her mouth, pausing when she appeared to notice the audience. “Oh, hi there,” she said. “I’m just enjoying the natural flavor of pumpkin spice from Green Mountain Coffee Roasters—and nothing else. Literally.” She then moved the mug away from her and tilted it towards the camera, showing the coffee inside. “Just look at this, a thing of natural beauty. No, no, no, no, not me! My Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Pumpkin Spice Coffee. It’s made with natural flavors; that means they stripped away the artificial and left nothing but goodness. What can I say?” she asked, leaning down on the countertop. “We have a lot in common.” It may not be the weirdest situation she’s found herself in recently, but it does feel a bit like a forced product placement between the number of times “Green Mountain Coffee Roasters” is repeated and the constant flickering of her eyes back to her script! Still, Instagram couldn’t get enough of it. Model and coder Karlie Kloss left “😍😍😍” in one comment. Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo wrote, “Day Made 🔥” “Advertising at it’s finest!! 👏👏 #homerun,” said another user. It’s an admittedly interesting break from the advertising grind if nothing else!
