It’s a ruff day at the 1964 Melbourne Dog Show when veteran handler Lavinia Lethlean is attacked and killed, and it appears her dog is the culprit. Trying to maintain a professional distance with his (spoiler alert) ex-fiancée, James bans Peregrine from the crime scene. Never one to let anything stand in her way, Peregrine registers herself as a handler for Lavinia’s prized collie, Milady Magnolia Fotheringham. As she integrates herself into the dog show community, Peregrine hopes her killer instincts will help her sniff out the real murderer. Meanwhile, Birdie (Catherine McClements) returns from a trip but appears to be hiding something, and Sally (Emma Hamilton) returns to the city leaving Peregrine to wonder if it’s “pawsible” James’ old flame is a better match for the gentleman detective than she is.
