The Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum penned an emotional tribute for Selma Blair, who withdrew from the Dancing With the Stars competition on Monday night’s episode. Prior to taking the stage during Week 5, Blair announced that she would be exiting the series due to her MS diagnosis. “I can’t go on with the competition,” the star said, referencing a recent MRI that revealed some bone damage. She continued: “I pushed as far as I could… My body is definitely taking a hit. It’s way too much for the safety of my bones. There is just intensive bone trauma and inflammation among rips and tears, so I could do extensive damage that of course I do not want.” Gellar shared a sweet selfie with Blair to honor her incredibly brave journey, writing in the caption, “Long before @dancingwiththestars I knew you were a ten, and now the world knows. Selma I’ve never been so proud of you (and I’m often proud of you) You make the rest of us believe that we can do anything. That we can never give up. And a special thank you to @sashafarber1 for making this experience what it has been for James- pure joy. I will miss getting to watch the happiness radiate from Selma each week as she stepped on stage with you. Thank you for that gift. And speaking of gifts- @selmablair your love and friendship is the greatest gift. I love you Blair” The duo have been friends for nearly 25 years and starred together in the 1999 hit teen drama, Cruel Intentions. Gellar wasn’t the only one beaming with pride. Following her beautiful Viennese Waltz, Blair received four 10s by judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, Derek Hough, and Bruno Togniol, and was championed by her fellow DWTS co-stars.
