The monarch donned a pair of gold-framed shades for her public appearance in Edinburgh, Scotland yesterday alongside her oldest son and heir to the throne Prince Charles. She was pictured smiling in a cornflower-blue tweed coat and hat, decked out in her usual pearl set and using a cane. The queen and Charles were out and about to watch the Royal Company of Archers Reddendo Parade at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, which is the monarch’s official residence whenever she’s in Scotland. Meanwhile, Charles goes by the title Duke of Rothesay when he’s in Scotland, rather than the Prince of Wales. This is the first time we’ve seen the queen in public since her platinum jubilee celebrations in June. She was pictured waving to the public on the balcony of Buckingham Palace alongside family members including Charles, Duchess Camilla, Prince William, Duchess Kate, and the three Cambridge children: Prince George, Princess Charlotteand Prince Louis. Absent from the balcony line-up were Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry, but the Sussexes had the chance to meet with the queen privately during their trip to the UK for the jubilee. And yesterday it was confirmed that Charles also met his 1-year-old granddaughter Lilibet at last, as well as 3-year-old Archie, before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to California with their family. Charles’ meeting with his grandchildren was described by a royal source as “very emotional.” Next up, Princess Eugenie Debuted a New Tattoo—And Revealed Her Son August’s Red Hair!
