“Part of the whole point of the story is people want to know why,” Amanda Seyfried, who plays Holmes, said at the Television Critics Association winter press tour. “There’s so many whys. She’s still such a mystery, and I think this is the only project that actually gives insight. A lot of it is guesswork, but guesswork based on a lot of facts. And I think we’re capable of such crazy things." Seyfried adds, “She was incredible at creating things. She was also incredible at creating the story of Theranos and her invention. She could sell me if I ever met her. It was one of the reasons I didn’t want to meet her because I knew that she had a way about her."
