The Disney Branded Television series starring Tim Allen as Santa Claus/Scott Calvin has been renewed for a second season. The news followed the release of the show’s Season 1 finale on Dec. 14, 2022. “This franchise has had a lasting impact for so many families, truly becoming part of their annual holiday traditions,” Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, said in a press release. “Bringing it back as a series has been a true gift, and I’m grateful to our producing partners at 20th Television and, of course, Tim Allen and team, that we have yet another reason to celebrate this holiday season," Davis added. Will Tim Allen be in Season 2 of The Santa Clauses?
You can’t have The Santa Clauses without Santa himself! Disney+ has confirmed that Allen, who is also an executive producer, will reprise his beloved role as Santa/Scott in Season 2.
Who is in the Season 2 cast of The Santa Clauses?
In addition to Allen, Disney+ announced that Elizabeth Mitchell will be back as Mrs. Claus/Carol. The rest of the Season 2 cast has not yet been revealed. The first season of the Disney+ original series starred Allen’s real-life daughter Elizabeth Allen-Dick as his onscreen daughter Sandra. The Golden Globe-winning actor previously told Parade.com that Sandra “was a marvelous addition” to The Santa Clauses. The Season 1 cast included:

What will happen in Season 2 of The Santa Clauses?
Disney+ has not yet revealed what’s in store for Santa next season, but as viewers saw in the Season 1 finale, Allen’s character is back as Santa after retiring too soon and picking the wrong successor, Simon Choksi. Scott puts on Santa’s coat—which Simon had never put on, so the Santa-fication process hadn’t begun—and becomes Santa again. In the first season, Scott, who is the first human Santa, learns that the Santa Clauses were created to guide him and that his becoming Santa was no accident. His children also have inherited the magic of the North Pole and have magic powers. Before Santa and his team, the Claus family, set out together to deliver gifts in the final episode, Santa tells his son that his “apprentice program” starts that evening. At the last stop of the night, Santa sends Cal down the chimney, where he sees Riley. Cal tells her that he is his dad’s “Santa-in-training” and the two share a kiss after he hands her a bouquet of poinsettias, her favorite. Back on the sleigh, Scott asks, “Cal, did you remember to make sure she didn’t remember? Did you remember?” “Yeah, I remembered. Yeah,” a hesitant Cal tells his father, to which Mrs. Claus replies, “What could go wrong?” Guess viewers will have to wait and see if anything does go wrong come next season!
