If you’re talking about the real-life Isle of the Dead, not the AMC series, the answer is actually yes: The Isle of the Dead, previously called Opossum Island, is a small island off the coast of Tasmania in Australia. Beginning in about 1833, the island was used as a cemetery for Australian convicts. There are about 1,000 graves on the Isle of the Dead, but according to the BBC, only about 180 of those graves are marked—and those are the graves belonging to military personnel and prison staff, not any of the prisoners themselves. Prior to the British colonization of Australia, aboriginal tribes used the Isle of the Dead for food-gathering. It is currently a UNESCO world heritage site. Maggie and Negan will join forces in New York City’s Manhattan for Isle of the Dead. As of this writing, it’s unclear exactly how the unlikely duo will end up in the Big Apple, as their story arcs on the original AMC The Walking Dead’s final season aren’t yet complete: The second half of the final season won’t air until later in 2022. One thing that’s safe to assume: Negan’s signature leather jacket will help him fit right in with any hipster survivors he encounters during their journey to and in New York.

Is there an Isle of the Dead trailer?
No trailer exists yet for Isle of the Dead. However, AMC has released a promo poster image for the series, which shows the entrance to New York City’s Lincoln Tunnel. The tunnel is closed off and covered in warnings about the walker apocalypse, including one that may be quite familiar to fans of the franchise: “DON’T OPEN DEAD INSIDE.” You can see parts of the New York City skyline, as well as a pair of straggler walkers off to the left of the image. The city is visibly in rough shape, with overgrown weeds and ivy, potholes (which, to be fair, some New Yorkers, depending on the borough and neighborhood, may say are normal!) and a generally dirty, dingy vibe.
