Today’s Wordle Answer #239: Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022
Wordle kicked off the week with a bang. If you need a hint for today’s Wordle solution, think of a rockin’ Jackson 5 song … and maybe tweet about it if you’re feeling fly. We used a different Wordle starting word for the Feb. 13, 2022, puzzle than usual. After several days of using what we call our “Wheel of Fortune” letters (words that use R, S, T, L, N and E), as well as the words “SOARE” and “CRANE,” each of which has been labeled as the best Wordle starting wordsby different experts, we went slightly outside of the box. Our Wordle starting word for Wordle #239 was “TRAIN.” We opted for it because of the use of common letters T, R, and N, plus two vowels in A and I. This time, going out of our Wordle starting word comfort zone actually helped! Knowing that I and N were the final letters and that R was somewhere in the word, frankly, we just didn’t have any other ideas of what else would fit for our second line. We put R at the beginning of the word and filled the rest in the best we could at 4:15 AM when our brain was still half-asleep—and it paid off! The solution is “ROBIN,” and it’s our personal best so far—and a reminder that the best Wordle starting word isn’t necessarily the most obvious or publicized option.
