Who’s in the  Warrior Nun cast?

Alba Baptista (Ava Silva)

Ava is a quadriplegic teenager who is dead at the beginning of the series. How she died remains a mystery. She rises from the dead after an angel’s halo is inserted into her, causing her to live again with fully functioning limbs. Having escaped an abusive life in an orphanage and her previous quadriplegic state, Ava wants to experience life to its fullest —so much so, she is a bit reckless in her actions. With the moniker of God’s Champion on Earth suddenly bestowed upon her, she is reluctant to be a part of the OCS though she is enjoying her newfound superpowers. She is in awe of tech mogul, Jillian Salvius.  Warrior Nun is narrated and led by Portuguese actress Alba Baptista in the role of Ava Silva. The series marks Baptista’s English-language debut.

William Miller (Adriel)

According to legend, Adriel was an angel who came down to earth to heal a woman named Areala by taking his own halo and placing it into her chest to heal her. By doing so, she gained supernatural abilities while he relinquished his immortality as well as his own holy powers. It was thought he died thousands of years ago, but in the season 1 finale, we learned Adriel was alive and a demon thief in disguise. The British actor is known for his roles on The 100 and Above Suspicion.

Toya Turner (Sister Mary/Shotgun Mary)

Sister Mary, also known as Shotgun Mary, is of the ilk, “Who brings a knife to a gun fight?” An expert with shotguns and other artillery, Mary is loyal to the sisterhood but not so much the church. She is played by Chicago native Toya Turner.

Tristan Ulloa (Father Vincent)

Father Vincent leads The Order of the Cruciform Sword but there’s more to him than meets the eye. A voice of calm and reason, this man of God seems pure and holy at first but we soon find out he has had a violent and sordid past as well as several complicated and dubious relationships. It’s these two conflicting lives he has led that make him an ideal leader for the Order, though the nuns kind of lead themselves.. He is played by French-born Tristan Ulloa.

Thekla Reuten (Jillian Salvius)

Salvius is the CEO of a tech start-up called ArcTech. Her son is terminally ill and she has been trying to create a cure for him. She makes a scientific discovery which will put religion into question. She is played by Dutch actress Thekla Reuten.

Lorena Andrea (Sister Lillith)

Sister Lillith is not a fan of Ava’s. She comes from family who has a generations-long relationship with the OCS with several ancestors who have bore the halo. She resents Ava as she thought she was a shoo-in to be the next halo bearer. She is played by British actress Lorena Andrea.

Kristina Tonteri-Young (Sister Beatrice)

Sister Beatrice is in the Order and can hold her own in a fight, but her greatest assets are her intelligence and strategic skill set. The role is the first major actor job for actress Kristina Tonteri-Young.

Emilio Sakraya (J.C.)

J.C. is a part of a group of petty criminals that Ava embraces and eventually has a romance with. Do his initials foretell something more? Though he has ambitions beyond a criminal life, whether he is able to walk the path of the straight and narrow remains to be seen. He is played by Moroccan-Serbian actor Emilio Sakraya.

Joaquim de Almeida (Cardinal Duretti)

An agent of the Vatican, Duretti has no faith that Ava can be God’s Champion on Earth. He will do anything to stop Jillian Salvius from using the supernatural metal Divinium for her own nefarious purposes but does he have a nefarious purpose of his own? He is played by Portuguese-American actor Joaquim de Almeida who is best known for his roles on 24, Clear and Present Danger and Queen of the South.
