Initial reports suggest that Philip will be buried in the royal vault below St George’s Chapel, and that his coffin will later be moved when Queen Elizabeth IIdies so that their coffins can be interred together in a special tomb in the chapel itself, where the queen’s father King George VI, the Queen Mother, and Princess Margaret are all at rest. However, other reports say that Philip is likely to be buried in the grounds of Frogmore Castle on the Windsor Estate in keeping with his wishes. If this is the case, it’s possible that the queen will someday be buried alongside her husband in a similar fashion to Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, whose ultimate resting place is a 13th-century-Italian-style mausoleum in Frogmore Gardens. Frogmore Cottage, where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle lived during the first few months of Archie’s life (and where Princess Eugenieand Jack Brooksbank are currently living with their new baby August Philip) is located on the Frogmore estate, as is Frogmore House, a beautiful Grade-I listed country estate that dates from the 17th century and which served as the venue for Harry and Meghan’s wedding reception.
